From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with extensive world-building, a colorful mix of heroes, and a thrilling plot showcasing celestial beings, demons, and malevolent powers increasing in influence within the urban setting.

The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled
Episode 3 concluded with a huge suspense moment and presented the first table of characters who will branch out from the main group to embark on their independent quest, separate from the additional parties.
The combat-focused team includes the determined fighter (played by Travis), Thimble (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), the cleric (Sam), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).
Why Split the Party?
Given 13 cast members, it was obvious from the beginning that having everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, connecting the characters’ stories before dividing into three distinct groups: Warriors, Strategists, and Explorers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
According to the DM, the Soldiers table is for players who prefer a traditionally charged battle-oriented narrative style where diplomatic options are few and far between.
Initially, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander might look unsuited, but the events of the latest installment make it clear why these particular heroes are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
Motivations for Departure
First, the group understands precisely where to head next after a violent opening clash with The Crow Keepers.
An old friend of Thjazi—whose death started the narrative’s action—used the enemy for his personal gain, breaking into the hidden lair, assaulting the character, and taking all the magical artifacts to auction.
The traitor then cleared his obligations and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, north of the urban center, with Cyd hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Moreover, each adventurer has a specific drive to exit the metropolitan area:
- The agile hero, as the close ally and closest confidant, desires vengeance.
- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with the northern area and advises that it is a hostile environment.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having resisted his family’s wishes to execute the target and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- But, their reputation as key figures in the powerful family could enable the team access areas they usually can’t.
- Moreover, The fighter swore a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his salvation and will now accompany him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
Finally, all of them are sought by the powers that rule the setting for a range of causes, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- Thimble and Kattigan are known criminals.
- Tyranny and Wicander betrayed House Halovar and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
- The fighter is targeted for elimination by the family.
This leaves them few options but to journey toward the remote area in pursuit of the antagonist.
Upcoming Developments
Based on the recent installment’s Cooldown, we learn that the Soldiers table will be absent next week, leaving the remaining eight cast members to form the Seekers and Strategists parties.
Fans can look forward to finding out which adventurers will be where in the season’s last Overture episode, streaming live on the upcoming Thursday.
